“Simply sensational.
My first day, I was tentative. I was in the middle of chemotherapy and desperately seeking relief from holding it all in and doing my best to just keep it together. From the moment I walked into the treatment room, I knew this would be different. The music was soothing, the room cool and airy, and the decor simply elegant. I did not know what to expect. I have been to a few massage therapists throughout my lifetime and even flirted with becoming one myself. As I undressed and laid upon the table, the sheets were crisp, clean, and soft to the touch. I opted for the lymphatic massage And by the time Maiko knocked to come in and start, I was ready. She began with a warm cloth covering my eyes and proceeded to gently release tension from my neck, shoulders, and jaw. One of the chemo drugs made my jawbone hurt. I was amazed at how intuitive Maiko was at finding all the places I forgot to tell her about, the left rotator cuff, the right elbow and forearm, the left shin and ankle, and the right arch.
